Bajaj Auto was born on November 29, 1945 in India and was originally called M / s Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited. It is an Indian car and vehicle manufacturer. The main office of the company is located in the city of Pune, and the factories are in the cities of Chakan, Aurangabad and Pantanagar.
The Indian company Bajaj is one of the largest manufacturers of motor vehicles with an annual production of four million units. And in the production of three-wheeled vehicles, it is the leader in the world. The idea of creating a four-wheeled vehicle came from the head of the company, Rajiv Bajaj, immediately after the Tata Nano microcar failed in the Indian market. Bajaj is convinced that this four-door was not cheap enough for a massive Indian car. Indeed, only a handful of early adopters managed to buy the Nano at an advertising price of Rs 100,000. Recently, prices started at $ 2,250, and the updated Tata Nano GenX went up to $ 3,000 at all.
Therefore, back in 2010, Bajaj began to create the first four-wheeled vehicle in its history. Already in January 2012, the first prototype of the Bajaj RE60 was presented, after which Rajiv Bajaj began long negotiations with the country's leadership to lift the ban on selling ATVs to private hands.
The layout of the Bajaj Qute almost repeats the original Tattoo Nano: a tall one-volume body, small wheels in the corners, an almost absent trunk (44 liters) with access through the interior and an engine located above the rear axle. A single-cylinder petrol four-stroke with a volume of 216 "cubes" develops 13.5 hp, meets Euro-3 standards, works in tandem with a motorcycle five-speed gearbox and is able to accelerate Qute with a curb weight of less than 400 kg to 70 km / h. Methane and propane versions should be available soon.
The body is steel, but the roof is made of plastic. An auto-quadricycle is only a palm longer than a smart (2752 mm), and is inferior in width to it by as much as 250 mm (1312 mm), but the cabin, nevertheless, is designed for four people.
The Bajaj plant in Aurangabad is capable of producing 60,000 such machines per year. Initially, they will be supplied to 16 countries in Asia and Africa such as Nigeria and Egypt. Moreover, the company assures that it will be able to certify a quadricycle in Europe!
